Since moving into our new office in Downtown Frederick, we’ve been expanding our team! Throughout the next few weeks we’re going to be introducing some of our new members. We love meeting the locals of Frederick, and we hope we can give you a brief intro of ourselves! Today, we interviewed our Client Manager Christian Villarosa who joined us in early June, here’s what he had to say:
Tell Us A Little Bit About Yourself
My name is Christian A.L. Villarosa. I am 22 years old and from Knoxville, MD just a bit outside of Frederick. I graduated in 2018 from Elizabethtown College with a degree in Communications. I also minored in Creative Writing. I am now a Client Manager at Apollo Marketing.
Who/what inspires you?
I have a dream in which everyone in the world can one day communicate with one another and not feel anxious about it. Working in communications and marketing; connecting with people like I do at Apollo and through my photography work push me towards making that dream a reality. I think that’s what inspires me to keep working harder.
What made you interested in the world of marketing?
I always loved to communicate with people when it came to things that interest me. Being able to spread the word about something I love has always been fun, and that’s kind of what I get to do when it comes to marketing.
What was your favorite local spot in your college town?
The local game store. I always found myself browsing to see if they had anything new. I also helped them with marketing during my senior seminar project so it holds a special place in my college memories.
What is your favorite local spot in the city of Frederick?
Growing up I never really spent too much time in the city. I do a lot of stuff just outside of the town. But if I had to pick, it would probably be Baker Park.
What are the things you like to do outside of work?
I am a cosplay portrait photographer so a lot of my outside of work time is spent at Japanese Anime conventions. I recently traveled to LA to take part in Anime Expo for the very first time. I also play a variety of games competitively like Super Smash Bros. and Pokemon: The Trading Card Game.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I own 25 pets. Some of them are standard animals like cats and dogs. But I also have ducks, chinchillas, goats, and a mini cow.
How do you like working on the Apollo Marketing team?
It’s been really fun so far. I’ve learned a lot from Colin and Sage and it’s really translated to helping me out in the world of photography as well. It’s been great actually having a group of people to rely on, learn from, and share ideas with. I can’t wait to get more involved with the company.
What is the best advice you ever received?
I’ve gotten a lot. But one that I remember hearing recently is something along the lines of “Don’t worry about making the mistake if it means not taking the chance at all.” If you let your possible regrets get in the way of what you want to do, you might never even get the chance to reach your dreams. Don’t worry so much, just go and do it. Deal with the consequences (or the rewards) afterwards.
